Naomi "Nomz" Bistline survived the cult of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), where she was led by Sam Bateman, who claims to be a prophet and the heir apparent to Warren Jeffs, who is currently serving life in prison for child sexual assault. Bistlines was the 13th of Bateman's 23 "spiritual wives" and all of whom he sexually abused. Despite her awakening, many of the women in Bateman’s group still believe that he is a prophet. After 18 months out of prison, Bistlin has turned to music and studying psychology to gain control over her own life. Her story is featured in Netflix's new docusery, Trust Me: The False Prophet.
