Ian McKellen Says Johnny Depp Is ‘in Spankingly Good Form’ in 'Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol'

Sir Ian McKellen and Johnny Depp have been praised for their performances in "Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol," a big-screen retelling of Charles Dickens' novella. McKellen praised Depp for his "spankingly good form" and "effervescent, funny, irreverent, serious" performance. The film is set to be released in theaters on Nov. 13. Depp is making his return to major Hollywood movies with Ebenezer, his first since 2019's Waiting for the Barbarians and 2018's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The actor had previously stepped back from Hollywood movies following his defamation case with ex-wife Amber Heard.
