The Swiss government has decided to withhold payments to the United States for a Patriot missile system order until Washington provides binding delivery dates. The government also stated that terminating the purchase of the system is an option. The delivery schedule remains uncertain and payment milestones are also uncertain. Defence Minister Martin Pfiziz stated that the government still expects to acquire the system, but is ruling out any further action. The Swiss government plans to inform the Federal Council by the end of June on the next steps regarding the procurement of the Patriot system.
