A LendingTree analysis has found that renting is cheaper than owning a home in San Antonio. This is true for all 100 largest U.S. metro areas, with mortgage prices increasing by 37% per month. The study also revealed that in 22 of the 100 largest metros, owning costs at least 50% more each month than renting. The median monthly gross rent in the San Antonio area is just over $1,400, compared to over $2,000 per month for mortgaged homes.
