U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has plenty of jet fuel for Europe, despite the market's disagreement. About half a million barrels a day of jetfuel is exported out of the Strait of Hormuz, mainly to Europe and some to Asia and Africa, according to data from vessel-tracking service Kpler. Total U.S.-led total jet fuel exports averaged 219,000 bpd last year. Most of the country's jet fuel production is located in the US Gulf Coast, and major demand centers along the East Coast and West Coast have historically relied on imports for their needs. However, higher export demand could result in more price increases for U.,S. consumers, posing a challenge for the Trump administration.
