The small town of Mesquite, Nevada, offers a relaxing alternative to Las Vegas. The 2026 Mesquite Balloon Festival was held in an empty lot near the CasaBlanca Casino and saw about 300 people come in to participate in the event. Despite the windy conditions, the balloon pilots and passengers were able to float in large, multicolored balloons. The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum is packed with artifacts, including a Victorian wedding dress, an old-school slot machine, and a bed. The Mesquite Fine Arts Center and Gallery features works from local artists. Since Mesquite has a number of casinos, it also offers a wide range of restaurants.
