HBO's financial drama, Industry, has been renewed for its fifth and final season following a significant turnaround in its creator, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, who have taken one of the biggest steps yet with their HBO financial drama yet. The Season 4 finale of the show, which included a surprising turn for one of its central characters, Yasmin Kara-Hanani, that drew parallels to the Epstein files. The writing partners were inspired by Ghislaine Maxwell’s dealings with Jeffrey Epstein when designing Yasmin, a publishing heiress who hosted salons for neo-Nazis and seduced them with underage women for blackmail. Despite acknowledging some of Maxwell's backstory, they believe the show's latest direction is not salacious, but a bold choice.
