Kankakee County, Georgia, has been dealing with storm damage to facilities, vehicles, and buildings after a March 10 tornado narrowly missed the public safety center and jail. The roof of the sheriff’s office and jail sustained over 5,000 holes, and maintenance team members were responsible for cleaning up the remaining skylights. The county's other buildings also suffered significant damage, including the IKAN Regional Superintendent of Education Office and the Kankakeed County Health Department. The final cost of the county's losses will be known by mid-summer.
