He emphasized that President Trump's energy dominance strategy was built for this moment and that the administration aims to increase supply domestically and with allies to ensure affordable gas prices for the future. The price of Brent crude oil rose to over $100 a barrel after Iranian counterstrikes in the Strait of Hormuz effectively closed the major petroleum trading corridor. The Trump administration has taken several controversial measures to address the global increase in energy rates, including lifting sanctions on the sale of Russian and Iranian oil and ordering increased domestic oil production off California’s coast.
