Christopher Nolan, the legendary director of The Odyssey, has given a free talk about the process of shooting the film on IMAX. He explains how the large-format film gets removed after shooting, worked on, and edited for the final 'first-generation' cut to play in IMAX theatres. The talk includes a detailed guide to each canister of film being shipped to Los Angeles and how it is then removed from the drying process and how rolls of film are glued together by hand to achieve color correction. The film, which is the first shot entirely in the IMAX, has led to a surge in ticket sales, with some tickets being resold for up to $1000.
