Kelso police are investigating a late-night shooting that occurred in the 400 block of Long Avenue. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Xanthyny David Degenenstein, was transported to a hospital by private vehicle and later airlifted to Portland in critical condition. Witnesses reported a dispute between individuals, but neither the suspect nor the victim were present at the scene.
