DOJ backs down in legal fight with law firms Trump targeted

The Department of Justice has moved to dismiss its civil case against four leading law firms, including Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Jenner & Block and Susman Godfrey, who won rulings against President Trump's executive orders for employing or representing them. This decision comes after other top law firms agreed to provide almost $1 billion worth of legal work to the president instead of going to court. The DOJ's decision makes permanent the rulings of four federal judges that the executive orders targeting these firms are unconstitutional.
