Barry Lee Moe and Kari Hill from "Love Story" actress Carolyn Bessette Bessettes were behind the scenes to create a unique shade and tone of blond for the film series. The inspiration behind the look was a shot of Carolyn at Indochine and a Polaroid from the Calvin Klein office. The lived-in nature of Carolyn's hair was a crucial part of the look, with Unite Products' products being used to create and maintain these looks. The hair was highlighted meticulously so it could be easily moved by Sarah Pidgeon on camera. Over the course of two days, it took approximately 24 Hours (20 for color and four for extensions) and 400 Individual extensions to achieve this look. The color was researched and developed using imagery across multiple years to study how her hair's color shifted depending on her lifestyle, lighting, and aesthetic choices. To lift her color, Kari used Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Premium Lightener 9+. The color is a departure from traditional 'lived in" color techniques, which are now more widely accepted than traditional techniques used in modern hair styling.
