Dozens of decomposing bodies were discovered at a funeral home in Chicago's Far South Side, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The bodies were found during a funeral at South Chicago Chapel, which was in attendance when police arrived. The funeral director locked the doors on the police and Chicago Fire Department personnel had to force their entry. Neighbors reported the foul smell to law enforcement six months ago. The Cook County medical examiner’s office is working with authorities to identify the bodies and notify their families. The process could take several days to ensure proper disposition.
