Autopsy of College Student, 18, Who Died in Alleged Hazing Incident Reveals Blood-Alcohol Level 5 Times Over Legal Limit

College student Colin Daniel Martinez, 18, died in an alleged hazing incident at Northern Arizona University on Jan. 31, 2026. His autopsy revealed that his death was ruled accidental due to acute ethanol toxicity. Three students and members of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, identified as Carter Eslick, Ryan Creech, and Riley Cass, were arrested on suspicion of hazing. Following the incident, Northern Arizona university suspended Delta TauDelta, which was later shuttered by the national organization. The university is conducting a separate investigation into the incident and has robust hazing prevention training and requirements.
