The air traffic controller who was at the helm when an Air Canada plane crashed into a rescue truck at LaGuardia Airport continued working after the deadly incident, raising questions about his absence. Only two controllers were on duty at the time of the crash, with only one clearing the emergency vehicle to respond to an incident on another plane as the Air Canada jet was landing. The NTSB is investigating whether any distraction was caused by the distraction of a United Airlines flight. The crash, which killed two pilots and injured 40 people, occurred at around 11:45 p.m.
