Jacob Alexander Willis, the first suspect to plead guilty in the 2019 fatal shooting of El Paso rapper Terrance Kinard Jr., was sentenced to 10 years probation after pleading guilty to engaging in organized criminal activity as part of a plea deal. Charges were dismissed against seven other suspects, while three others are still awaiting trial. Willis was the first person arrested in the shooting to plead. The case against Joshua Cecil Davis, another suspect, remains pending due to medical issues. The El Paso District Attorney's Office also dismissed capital murder for retaliation and engaging in organised criminal activity for seven suspects arrested in connection with Kinard's death.
