Lower Rock Creek Fire triggers ‘Go Now’ orders in Gilliam Co.; Sheriff says emergency alert system has ‘massive’ failure

A wildfire burning in Gilliam County, Oregon, has triggered Level 3: “Go Now” evacuation orders for communities in the northern part of the county, according to the Gilliam Sheriff’s Office. The Lower Rock Creek Fire has led to Level 3 evacuation orders in northern communities, including residences on Middle Rock Creek Lane to Highway 19 (west side of the Highway) and residences on Bottimiller Lane to Bottimill Lane. Additionally, the sheriff’�s office issued level 1 and 2 evacuation orders, asking people to be ready to leave if needed. The sheriff”s office also reported a failure of their emergency alert system, which they attributed to "massive" failures.
