Mixed verdict for man charged in Northwest Side hit-and-run crash that injured 4 pedestrians in 2022

Renato Salazar was found guilty of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving personal injuries, but not of attempted murder, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and aggravated assault with a vehicle. The incident occurred on the Northwest Side of Chicago in 2022. The victims were seriously injured after Salazar allegedly hit them with an SUV and drove away. He was arrested months later in 2023.
