Pop artist Robert Indiana's former agent, Morgan Art Foundation, has won a $102 million verdict in Manhattan federal court against American Image Art and founder Michael McKenzie for violating its rights in Indiana's works, including his iconic "Love" image. The jury found that McKenzie had forged thousands of his works and sold them for millions of dollars. The lawsuit also accused Jamie Thomas of conspiring with McKenzie to sell forgeries of Indiana's art to galleries. American Image's trial attorney, Nicole Brenecki, said McKenzie disagreed with the verdict and will consider his post-trial options.
