Bingley girl ends six-month isolation after transplant

Freya's bone marrow transplant was successful, but she had to be in strict isolation for 25 weeks afterwards due to a rare complication called transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). Her mother, Amy, expressed her surprise at how well Freya has since improved and is looking forward to her full-time school. They have been told about a drug Eculizumab that may stabilise the TMA, but it is not currently available on the NHS.
