Extension to landfill site operations refused

Waste management company Biffa is considering options after councillors refused to extend the life of its Roxby landfill site in North Lincolnshire. An application to extend operations until May 2037 was rejected by the council's planning committee. The site, which has a history of complaints from nearby residents, also had an extension for restoration and use of the adjacent railways sidings also rejected. The Environment Agency has issued a formal warning to BiffA over the odour issues.
