Claros, a startup that minimizes energy waste at data centers, has secured a $30 million seed round from General Catalyst and Red Cell Partners. The company plans to commercialize advanced voltage regulators that provide power directly to servers' main processors. It has already fabricated three of these "integrated voltage regulators" (IVRs) and is working with manufacturers including Samsung. The other product is a modular data center that can run solely on direct current power.
