The foundation has supported nearly 1,000 units of affordable and supportive housing in 12 states for thousands of people, including youth and veterans. The restaurant, which serves over 234,000 healthy, three-course meals, is known for its unique system of "paying it forward" where customers pay for someone else's meal or volunteer to cover the cost of their order by volunteering. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Chicago.
