Instagram and Facebook content will soon have shopping links embedded into posts, replacing third-party "link in bio"-style tools. The functionality will be slightly different for each platform. On Facebook, content creators will be able to link their affiliate accounts with brands and tag products in Reels and photos. Products will be attached directly to content in a floating bubble that viewers can click directly. The program will initially start with Amazon, with Temu and eBay being added in the coming months. The new features are expected to make the platforms feel more like a shopping mall, similar to how TikTok Shop works.
