June Smith, a Thai chef from Narathiwat, is set to open her first brick-and-mortar restaurant, Rooster Kitchen in Ohio City. The restaurant will take over Ohio City Burrito's original space, which has been occupied since 2009 by Jeff and Michelle Pizzuli. Smith, who launched her mobile food operation in 2023 as a part-time venture, plans to start small with a one-page menu of five dishes and add a wider selection of proteins, and occasional chef's specials. She believes that running a brick-based restaurant will be a welcome change of pace after operating a popular food truck for three years.
