Minor problems across the state Thursday as residents brace for heavy rains in Friday forecast

The overnight rain caused minor problems across the state, but residents are preparing for another potential round of flooding. The latest storm has not significantly impacted Maui, with small ponds at Baldwin Beach Park near Paia and some flooding along South Kihei Road. On Oahu, the Waiahole Poi Factory is pre-emptively preparing with sandbags, transportation department crews are also working to prevent potential flooding. On Kauai, there were reports of minor issues, but the Kauai community was able to respond quickly. The Department of Transportation has been clearing waterways to prevent future flooding.
