Perplexity's Personal Computer, a version of its agentic AI platform, was launched on Mac due to its ability to locally deploy the platform. The Mac mini is considered one of the best and most accessible ways to deploy Personal Computer. The company's CEO, Kevan Parekh, highlighted the growing use of the Mac for AI platforms, citing Apple Silicon and its unified memory structure. Since its launch in March, Personal Computer has completed more than $2.8 billion in labor-equivalent work. Perplexity is also working with 1Password to allow Computer to perform actions in password-protected tools without seeing user credentials.
