AI hope drives Brighton medic to start rare disease research fund

A scientist at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, England, has started a rare disease research fund after discovering signs of possible benefits from a new strategy to treat rare genetic diseases. The fund is being administered through the process of allowing children outside of the US to participate in the trial. If proven, the model could be applied to thousands of other rare diseases.
