A pedestrian was hit near Golf Links and Kolb in Tucson on April 20, causing serious injuries. The Tucson Police Department warned that lane restrictions would be in place for several hours and drivers should avoid the area. This has been a deadly month in southern Arizona, with 21 serious crashes that killed 17 people. On April 1, 62-year-old John Forrest May died in a two-vehicle crash near Grant and Oracle in Tucson, and the other driver was arrested for causing death by a moving violation. Other incidents included a pedestrian hit and killed near 6th Avenue and Irvington on April 3, and a woman seriously injured in a single-vehicular roll-over crash on Interstate 10 westbound near Speedway in Tucson. Two children were killed and their mother seriously injured during a three-vehicles crash on April 7.
