Milwaukee artist Muneer Bahauddeen embraced public art, teaching youths

Milwaukee artist Muneer Bahauddeen, known for his large-scale ceramic tile murals and teaching art to young people in the community, was found dead on April 29 in his apartment. Known for his work as a community art installation and public art teacher, Bahaudden was also known for creating community art installations featuring messages of goodwill on ceramic tiles. His work often incorporated West African Adinkra symbols and Yoruba spiritual ideas. His friend Ras Ammar Nsoroma said Bahaudedin's work was deeply rooted in an African perspective and aligned with his personal identity.
