Apple's iPhone shipments in China surged 20% in Q1, according to data from Counterpoint Research. Despite a 4% drop in overall smartphone shipments, Huawei and Apple reported growth of 2% and 20% respectively. The surge in shipments was attributed to supply chain disruptions and soaring chip prices. Huawei's shipments were boosted by strong demand across both high-end and low-cost ranges, giving it a 20% market share in the quarter. However, Ivan Lam, senior analyst at Counterpoint, predicted further growth in the second quarter.
