Tyrone Taylor, the Mets' fourth outfielder, has hit seven home runs in his past 19 games and his 1.389 OPS since July 4. Since then, Taylor's slugging percentage and 1.9 OPS are the best in the majors among hitters with at least 35 plate appearances. The team's only offense came from a two-run homer in the second inning of a 6-2 loss to the Marlins. The Mets are looking to recoup value for walk-year players such as Taylor, especially in a market with limited righty bats. Freddy Peralta remains with the Mets and may return in September. The club has scored two or fewer runs in a game for the 42nd time this season, tied with the A's for the second-most in the major league.
