After bankruptcy and liquidation, a major retail name returns

Staples and Party City have announced a strategic partnership to bring the party retailer into 700 Staples stores, marking the first time in nearly two years that the retailer has returned to brick-and-mortar retail. The partnership aims to offer a more diverse and more diverse group of party supplies that will have a significant impact on Staples' bottom line. Party City, a self-proclaimed #1 party retailer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024 after years of declining sales and mounting debts, closed all remaining company-owned stores and re-launched its website shortly afterwards. The in-store experiences will include items like party decor, tableware, gift bags, party favors, and costumes and accessories. The collaboration is expected to expand into additional stores and online in the coming months.
