Australia's film industry has seen a significant increase in production following the introduction of the country's Incentive Boost. The government increased the Location Offset from 16.5% to 30% in July 2024, removing restrictions on major creative talent use. This has led to an increase in interest in the country as a place to shoot, with a record $1.93 billion spent in Australia across 174 Australian and international titles. Local pics saw a massive increase with expenditure increasing 76% to $270 million. Executive producer E. Bennett Walsh, who heads up “The Big Fix” a recently announced international production starring Mark Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed, credits the success of the industry. The industry is also seeing repeat business, with several studios returning to Australia.
