Woman charged with starting wildfire burning in McDowell County

A woman, Hilary Brooke Inman, has been charged with starting a wildfire in McDowell County, North Carolina. The Jumping Branch fire, which is currently 185 acres and 20% contained, was started by "improperly discarded smoking material". Inmate admitted to removing hot ash from a cigar and causing the fire to spread to private and U.S. Forest Service lands. The charge carries a fine up to $50.
