Jamya M. Jones-Houston, a 24-year-old woman from Pittsburgh, is accused of pretending to be a child's mother and taking her from school without permission. The woman reported this incident to Homestead police March 20 and claimed she had an active protection-from-abuse order against Jones-Honda, but it is unclear whether this was ever served. Police were called to the school principal who claimed Jones-honda had given permission for Jones-Haronda to sign the child out. The child was found unharmed and reunited with its mother. The Steel Valley School District has also conducted an investigation into its security protocols and student release procedures.
