A new report by WalletHub has ranked Minneapolis as No. 63 out of 100 of the largest U.S. cities for starting a business in 2026, while St. Paul came in at No. 82. The report compared 19 metrics including startup survival rates, labor costs, and access to financing. Despite this, Minneapolis stood out in the access to resources category, ranking No. 4 in the overall rankings. The study suggests that while the Twin Cities offer the talent and financial infrastructure entrepreneurs need, other factors may be making it harder for startups to succeed.
