PGA Tour to skip Hawaii after nearly 60-year run

The PGA Tour will not be returning to Hawaii for the first time in nearly six decades. This follows a year of uncertainty for professional golf in the islands, with the cancellation of the Sentry in Kapalua due to a severe drought and the Sony Open in Kahala. This year marked the final year of the PGA's sponsorship and speculation grew over the end of both tournaments in 2027. Tourism leaders estimate that the two tournaments bring in about $90 million in revenue each year.
