Jon Hamm, the actor behind Mad Men and Your Friends and Neighbors, has compared his character, Coop, to his character Andrew Cooper, who drinks aged scotch. Hamm compared Don Draper's Whiskey to Macallan 25, which costs $5,000 per bottle. The actor also mentioned that his 15-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz helped prepare Hamm for Coop's voiceover explainers of items stolen from his friends and neighbors. The showrunner, Jonathan Tropper, also mentioned Hamm's use of the voiceover device for the show. Hamm's portrayal of Coop as an opportunistic thief has been praised by Tropper as an easy choice for him.
