The Timberwolves lost 108-104 to the Portland Trail Blazers, their third consecutive game without All-Star guard Anthony Edwards, and their second-straight game without Naz Reid due to an ankle sprain. Despite contributions from Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland, the Wolves were unable to maintain their momentum. The Trail Blazers scored 68 points in the first half while shooting 27-for-51 from the floor. Coach Chris Finch noted that the Wolves lacked the playmaking abilities Edwards and Reid provide. Despite a strong start, the team's defense was criticized for giving Portland extra possessions out of the first quarter. The loss comes at a difficult time for the Wolves, who are currently tied for fifth in the Western Conference and face the Celtics, Rockets and Pistons in their next three games.
