The National Weather Service in Louisville has predicted that more rain is expected for the remainder of the week. Strong storms are expected to develop on either side of the Ohio River from March 4 until March 5. Most of the precipitation will fall on Southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky, with lesser totals expected further south. Forecasters predict that a cold front will move through the area on March 7. The metro area could see 1-3 inches of rainfall through March 10, potentially causing flooding due to the longer duration of the rainfall. As an area receives more rain, the ground will become more saturated, leading to concerns about river flooding.
