Construction workers in Sweden have discovered six historic shipwrecks, spanning the Middle Ages to the 17th century, during the construction of the Varberg Tunnel railway project. The most intriguing wreck was from the 1530s, which remained the most intact and with a continuous structure. Of the total six wrecks found in 2025, four are from the Middle Middle Ages, one from the 1800s, another from the 1700s, and one from which one couldn't be dated. The discovery is part of a wider investigation into maritime history during the Middle Age and early modern period. The findings are expected to yield significant information about maritime life during this period.
