A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Showtime that claimed that the TV series George & Tammy unfairly portrayed her late husband, George Richey. The case, filed in 2024, alleged that the series depicted Richety as a "devious husband" who engaged in physical abuse, facilitated Wynette's drug addiction, and manipulated the late singer. Despite initially dismissing the case last year, Judge Stephanos Bibas again dismissed the case, stating that Sheila failed to meet the strict legal requirements to bring such a case against the network.
