The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have issued safety tips for motorists encountering motorcycles on the road. NHTSA data shows that there were 6,335 motorcyclists killed in 2023, 15% of all traffic fatalities. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation recommends wearing a quality helmet, eye protection, jacket and pants, gloves, and sturdy shoes. All states require a motorcycle license endorsement to supplement your vehicle driver’s license.
