Saturday Night Live (SNL) has provided a platform for many successful comedians throughout the decades, with stars such as Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and others. However, some of these actors had brief stints with the show before finding success elsewhere. Gilbert Gottfried, who landed on the show after Lorne Michaels and the original cast had already left, lasted only 12 episodes and had issues with the writers during his time there. Ben Stiller was hired as a featured player in 1989 after seeing a short film he submitted that parodied The Color of Money and was more interested in directing than live performance.
