A wolf attacked a woman near the Altona station in Hamburg, Germany, on March 31, marking the first such attack since Germany reintroduced the endangered species almost 30 years ago. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for stitches and has since been discharged. The wolf fled the scene and was eventually captured near Lake Binnenalster, where it is now being transported to Klövensteen Wildlife Park. The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation reported that the wolf is currently very scared and stressed and recommends releasing it in a remote area once given a clean bill of health. This is not the first known attack on a human in recent years, but this has been noted as a threat to livestock.
