Runners are revving their engines for chilly 500 Festival Mini-Marathon

The 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, which marks the 50th anniversary of the race, is set to take place at 7:35 a.m. Saturday. The 5K run and half-marathon will take place through Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Participants were prepping at the Indiana Convention Center and estimated over 20,000 runners will participate. The race will be held in temperatures as low as 39 degrees. The winner will receive a golden medal at the end of the 13.1 mile.
