Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology is facing a significant challenge, with some Tesla owners expressing frustration over the company's lack of support for autonomy. The company's latest upgrade to its hardware, the Hardware 4 chip, is leaving old-school Tesla owners out in the cold. A class-action lawsuit has been filed by 3,000 people in California, led by Tom LoSavio, the lead plaintiff, who purchased his Model S in 2017 for $100,000 and paid another $8,000 for lifetime access to FSD. The lawsuit alleges that Tesla made false claims about the tech's capabilities and charged thousands of dollars for upgrades that didn't exist. Since 2017, Tesla has broken its promise multiple times, including upgrades to the more sophisticated FSD technology required hardware updates to the company’s computers and cameras. However, some customers, like LoSavo, were upgraded for free or paid to upgrade just a few years prior, while others paid for the 2020/2021 upgrade.
