The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission has set its 2026-27 hunting and trapping seasons after a two-day meeting. The commission moved the start of spring turkey season one week earlier to April 3, and approved a seven-day straight wall cartridge season on private lands only. For big game, there were no changes to hunting seasons and bag limits. The Commission also approved seven additional days for bear dog training on private land only in Bear Hunt Zones 1, 2 and 3, allowing training to occur 21 consecutive days.
